The Mechanical Engineering Group (three graduate engineers and eight technicians) provides the support to the Accelerator Division for 3D CAD design, FEM simulation, accelerators installation and alignement, mechanical characterization of components and workshop small productions.
The alignment laboratory has three laser trackers and a portable CMM, and the workshop is equipped with a CNC milling machine. Our activity includes the detailed design of magnets, vacuum chambers and support structures.
The Group often collaborates with other research institutions in Italy and abroad.
